I bought this album on vinyl sometime in mid 1977. It's one among many classics from the early FMP catalog. The music runs the gamut: complex interweavings and fleeting, instant compositions, abstraction, humor (e.g., the false starts and stops of "Das ist doch einfach genug"), musical quotation (hear Han call out "Salt Peanuts" early on in his drum solo on the title track), gorgeous melody ("Schoener geht's nimmer"), a little circus music, and controlled chaos.

Full Blast are full on certainly, but with appreciable nuance and restraint as well in places...a masterclass in interplay from seasoned risk-takers; I play this often and loud!
